Britt was born in Svolvaer, Norway in 1937. Between the years 1959 and 1962 Britt studied painting and sculpture with Ellen Christensen and Ferdinand Lunde in Oslo, Norway. Her debut was in Paris at Galerie de L’ Universite in 1965. She has exhibited internationally on several occasions in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, USA, Switzerland, Norway and Egypt and her works are part of private and public collections worldwide.
Britt participated in the Abstract Expressionist Movement in Europe in the 60s and 70s and still considers herself part of the Abstract Expressionist School. She has resided for many years in a rich and a colorful environment in Egypt. By using remnants of the Egyptian culture as well as her own European heritage, Britt expresses herself through her very own strong and vibrant colors.
In 1996, Britt was awarded the highest Norwegian Honor given to an artist: the “St. Olav Order” in 1996 for her very special contribution in art.
