Ihab Ahmed

Lebanon, 1983

Born in Beirut in 1983, Ihad Ahmad graduated with a degree in Visual Communication Art from the Lebanese University. He also took part in several workshops in silkscreen printing, painting and drawing. In 2016 he founded “Beirut Art Studio”, a space dedicated to teaching art to children and adults.
Ihab’s work is diverse; in addition to acrylic and collage on canvas, he creates metal and wood sculptures with a contemporary flare. Ihab developed a symbiotic relationship with intriguing natural symbols such as fish, eyes, trees, and man-made symbols like patterns and geometric forms, all of which emerged as an intense and bright abstraction.
His canvas paintings, featuring portrait and abstract art, describe the artist’s life experience. His paintings translate simple images into complex swirling shapes and colorful patterns giving the viewers the freedom to explore the artwork by assigning their own meaning to the painting. Passionate about drawing, he expresses his inspiration by creating a splendid atmosphere, stimulating the imagination of the viewers, taking them beyond colors and shapes. Ihab’s paintings are characterized by a sense of mystery that invites his viewers in. His paintings transport from reality to a vibrant, mystical world, where the viewer is the storyteller, creating and interpreting their own stories.
Ihab’s works have been exhibited in China, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, and France; including exhibitions at the Arabian Gallery, Dubai; Carré D’Artistes, Fakhry Bey Street, Beirut Souks, Lebanon, among other countries.
